Marcia Gay Harden
Marcia Gay Harden, born on August 14, 1959, in La Jolla (California), was the 3rd child in a family of five. Beverly Bushfield Her mother was a housewife during the time that Thad Harold Harden fought in the army. The first time she became interested in theater while staying with her family in Greece and going to plays in Athens. Harden studied at American Universities in Europe but returned to the US in 1983 and completed her studies at the University of Texas. She earned an MFA from NYU and began acting. Miller's Crossing was the Coen Brothers hilarious satirical tribute of the 1990 gangster film, Miller's Crossing. Although Harden appeared in movies since 1986 (in The Imagemaker, a lesser-known film The Imagemaker), she appeared as a seductive woman-of-the-world in her first mainstream performance. Harden's beautiful portrayal of Verna, an enigmatic, gorgeous mole, garnered positive evaluations. Harden thereafter worked steadily in supporting roles, including the portrayal of Ava Gardner in Sinatra (1992) which was a biopic on television on Frank Sinatra.
