Salma Hayek got her big break in Hollywood with a role on Robert Rodriguez's Desperado, eventually ascending to the pinnacle of the industry through her Oscar Award-nominated performance in Frida. Hayek has also been engaged in work on TV including as the executive producer of the hit show Ugly Betty. Salma Hayek Jimenez is the daughter of Spanish parents as well as is a Lebanese father.
